CV >

Yuiha Yamaguchi (b. 1992, Aichi, Japan) paints landscapes derived from fleeting everyday scenes encountered while traveling. Beginning with drawings, she reconstructs these memories through layered brushstrokes, allowing repetition, contingency, and intuition to shape pictorial space. Her paintings are not depictions but accumulations of thought, time, and chance.

Yamaguchi completed graduate studies at Nagoya University of the Arts and received an MA in Oil Painting from Tokyo University of the Arts. The artist’s work has been exhibited at GALLERY HAYASHI + ART BRIDGE (Tokyo), TAKU SOMETANI GALLERY (Tokyo), Opera City Art Gallery (Tokyo), and Gallery Valeur (Nagoya). She received the Reiichi Noguchi Prize at Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2020 and the Masami Shiraishi Prize at CAF Award 2019. Yamaguchi participated in a residency program at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2018. She lives and works in Japan.
