GALLERY HAYASHI + ART BRIDGE is pleased to announce our participation at art stage OSAKA 2022. We will exhibit present two Japanese artists, Masaki Okuten and Moemi Takano. For art stage OSAKA 2022, GALLERY HAYASHI + ART BRIDGE is pleased to present a two-person exhibition of new and past works by Masaki Okuten and Moemi Takano.

Masaki Okuten (b.1985 in Kanagawa, Japan) studied Fine Arts in Musashino Art University. He explores the connection on the context of painting and the beauty of the work itself. Based on the doodles of children under the age of five, before they have acquired their identity as human beings, Okuten layers colours on top of them. This process expresses the fundamental connotation of the act of drawing.

Moemi Takano (b.1993 in Kanagawa, Japan) graduated with a BA Fine Art from Goldsmiths University of London, UK. Her current artistic practice revolves around the idea of subversive aspect of handcraft. By applying various mark-making methods, she explores how small actions of hand can evoke larger philosophical questions of our age of social and environmental crisis on a planetary scale.
